It's always good to have some movies or series stored in your laptop when you're a 100 miles away from entertainment. Been catching up on Supernatural lately. I'm on Season 5. There's 7 altogether now.

Changing Channels is one of my favourite episodes. scratch that, favorite episodes. (i've had problems in ENL because i kept using british spelling pft)

Anyway.

The Trickster is back in this episode, messing up the minds of Sam and Dean. They find themselves hopping from tv drama, to japanese game show, to commercial, then to procedural cop shows, and the only way to survive is to play along with the trickster's game. Everything ties in so perfectly with the parody of Grey's Anatomy and CSI not coming off too forced.

Sam imitation of Horatio from CSI Miami is gold. And the commercial when he's forced to say he has genital herpes, BRILLIANT.

I'm sure the producers had fun putting them in awkward positions.

listening to this in the wee hours of the night (in your kaftan) will make you feel like you can accomplish anything in the world. (or could also be the coffee)

i can also watch 21yo Jake Gyllenhaal over and over and over and over again, and NEVERRR GET BORED.

this movie is definitely up there with fight club, napolean dynamite, charlie bartlett, mean girls .. with it's hilarious (and somewhat stupid) dialogues. My guilty pleasures heheh

Though Donnie Darko and Fight Club are somewhat less stupid and more psychological. which also puts them in the same category as A clockwork orange (which btw is the only story that can really get under my skin. very satire) must admit that it was really hard for me to get through 2 or 3 scenes in there. but nevertheless, t'was still a very good film.

End of '11

2010/2011 felt like a year on its own.

A lot of new people and new experiences were made. Now I don't know what to expect next year, but I'm sure things will turn out alright. It always does. As it did last year.

Resolutions

1. Do own laundry (& hopefully I won't pile it up until the very weekend to bring home)
2. commit to voluntary work
3. become less antisocial to new people (i'll try)
4. stay at the top of my classes (ATLEAST a 3.2 GPA)
5. lotion everyday (though i can already foresee that this isn't going to last long)

I somehow wish today was already the first of Jan. Can't wait for classes!

The longest, most factual, interesting all the while, funniest debate I've ever seen.

Dr Zakir Naik can memorize the whole of Quran plus all the other scriptures there is (or was) out there like the Bible, Veda, Manu Smriti, Rigveda, Mahabharata etc. He's pretty much a walking computer, but with more humour.

And as you can tell, this guy got slammed by Dr Zakir Naik. Real bad. Even at the end of the Q&A session, he leaves early because he had "other engagements to attend to." (Uhm. oh..kay)
